Learning to Live it

I have this sinking feeling that I'll never really stop learning this stuff. The rambling and reblogging of a 18 year old, pansexual geek.
  • Me: There's a band called Canadians, but they're from Italy and have a California inspired sound.
  • Dad: Now all they need is a French attitude and English cooking.

A47dim - Fflur Dafydd

Dyma gan fywiog gan y gantores a bardd, Fflur Dafydd o’i halbwm ‘Byd Bach’. Mae’r gan yma yn seiliedig ar brofiad personol Fflur ar ol iddi dreulio rhan fwyaf o ddegawd yn gyrru fyny ac i lawr yr A470 - yn ceisio byw yng Ngogledd a De Cymru ar yr un pryd. Mae’r gan hon yn ymweld a rhai o’r llefydd rhyfedd y daeth hi ar ei traws - o’r ty ar y Mynydd yn Llandygai lle yr oedd hi’n byw yng nghanol gwyddau, i’r bwythyn bach ar Ynys Mon ble yr oedd hi’n cael ymweliadau cyson gan lletywraig ffyrnig. Fel ddywedai’r gan: “Tra fod popeth yn y byd mawr crwn yn dymchwel o nghwmpas i, / dwi’n gyrru lan a lawr yr un hewl.”

This is a lively, upbeat song by singer and poet, Fflur Dafydd from her album ‘Byd Bach’ (Small World). The song is based on Fflur’s personal experience as she spent the best part of a decade driving up and down the A470 - trying to live in North and South Wales at the same time. This song visits some of the strange places she encountered en route, from the house on Mynydd Llandygai where she lived among geese, to the tiny cottage on Anglesey where she was paid frequent visits by a fiery landlady. As the coda states: “Even if everything in the world collapses / I’ll still be driving up and down the same road.”

Hey Michele, the camera’s down here.

As an atheist, I see nothing “wrong” in believing in a god. I don’t think there is a god, but belief in him does no harm. If it helps you in any way, then that’s fine with me. It’s when belief starts infringing on other people’s rights when it worries me. I would never deny your right to believe in a god. I would just rather you didn’t kill people who believe in a different god, say. Or stone someone to death because your rulebook says their sexuality is immoral. It’s strange that anyone who believes that an all-powerful all-knowing, omniscient power responsible for everything that happens, would also want to judge and punish people for what they are.
